For Time and All Eternity!

Last month, we were able to take our little family to the Mesa Temple and be endowed and sealed!! It was such an amazing experience! It was great that so many friends and famly came to support us! We can't wait to go back to the temple to enjoy it again.

One Big Happy family

Well, its been really long since I wrote last! Well, here's the scoop: We had our baby boy Truman Scott Peterson on March 19th at 7:45 AM. He weighed 8 lbs 6.5 oz. and was 20.5 inches long! At first, he was having some minor complications, so he spent the first day and a half in the nursery. It was hard on me not to have him with me (especially since they did that same thing with Cadence!) Atleast they brought him to me every few hours so I could feed him! Anyway, 5 weeks later we are both healthy and doing well. He had a very bad cold last weekend, but luckily it didn't turn into anything serious! Cadence had the cold as well, and they're both feeling much better now! Truman had a doctors appointment this week, and he already weighs 12 lbs 2 oz. and is 22.5 inches long! He's definitely healthy and big!

Cadence is doing well as a big sister! she loves him so much, she has to kiss him goodnight every night before she goes to bed. Its so sweet! She likes to help me bathe him and helps me out here and there when I need her to get things for me! She tends to get jealous every once in a while... and lately she's been completely ignoring everything I say!! But, she's two, so thats normal, right? Haha! But she's been good wth him for the most part!

I'm recovering well from the c-section. I've had a few minor setbacks, and have been deressed on and off because of my yucky baby fat tummy! So as soon as I'm allowed to exercise, I will be out and about! I also started a diet this week, and after only 5 days, I've already lost 4 lbs! So it's off to a good start. David is doing really well! He loves being a daddy of two. He's also still trying to figure out what he wants to do for school! He will be taking some classes this fall, but he still needs to decide what he wants to major in. He keeps changing his mind!

We have also set our temple date to be endowed and sealed! We will be going to the temple on June 13, and we are very excited about it! My whole family will be coming out for it which is very exciting since I havent seen them in 2 and 1/2 years! Anyway, I think thats enough for now! Got lots to do!

And Auld Lang Syne

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It feels so weird to think that its 2009 already! Well, its been a while since i posted last, so i thought I'd leave you something! First things first, David got a new job in the beginning of November!! He works at an eye care place, as the lead patient manager (that's fancy talk for head receptionist! LOL) The hours are perfect, and the pay is great! Especially since after only 30 days, they gave him a dollar raise! They really like him there, and we get a nice discount on glasses and free eye exams! Woohoo!!

Thanksgiving was wonderful, Christmas was wonderful, and New years was just okay! Haha! For Thanksgiving, we had a dinner just for the three (and a half) of us! I cooked a delicious and amazing dinner, with a 17 lb turkey! It was all beautiful and we all got nice and fat! For Christmas, we spent it at home just us again! We did the whole Santa thing for Cadence, starting a few weeks beforehand. We would tell her that if she was a good girl, Santa would bring us gifts! So she was actually GOOD until Christmas! On Christmas eve, we left out cookies for Santa, and the next morning, when cadence saw the plate with just a half eaten cookie left, and the milk was all gone, she was so excited! She even ate the rest of Santa's cookie! Almost immediately after opening her gifts, she began the "MINE!" phase!! For our Christmas dinner, we went to a friends house; they're this amazing family we know from church, and they were kind enough to ask us to dinner! It was so much fun, and so delicious. The day after Christmas, we drove up to Prescott to go play in the snow! Cadence had never actually played in snow before, so we wanted her to experience it. I'm so used to the nice Tucson weather, that i was FREEZING up there!! But it was good to see some old friends and to see the trees!! For New Years, David had to work all day, and late into the night. So i stayed home and watched some TV, played with Cadence... the usual! David got home in time for us to put cadence to bed, and then we drank some sparkling cider while we watched the ball drop, then we were all fast asleep before 12:30!! We never stay up that late, so it was difficult to keep my eyes open that late!

So now, things are going good! We are getting ready for Truman to arrive! I have 11 weeks left until the big day!! My mom is going to be flying out here when I have the baby to be here to help, and to play with Cadence! I'm so excited to see her, its been over 2 years!! And then In early June, we will be going to the temple to be sealed as a family!! So we have a lot of exciting things going on this year!

baby name

SO... first things first, we have decided on a name for the baby!! We wanted something original, that you don't hear very often. As much as we would have loved to pick another musical name to go along with Cadence, there just aren't any other practical musical terms that sound good as a boys name! So, after a lot of looking around we finally settled on the name Truman Scott Peterson. We both like the name Truman, and like how its not common! Scott is Davids middle name, which he just has to pItalicass down as a family thing! But we both love it and think it sounds good!! Cadence likes it too, she can almost say Truman, but it comes out more like "seamen." And she also likes to call him "brother" because she's very excited to be a big sister! So i put up a "baby bump" picture for you all, Since I'm 20 weeks now! This picture was actually taken a little over a week ago, and i was kinda pushing my tummy out. Although now, that's what my tummy looks like without pushing it out! I'm starting to feel FAT!! Which is no fun!!

Cadence's first time trick or treating went well! At first, she was having a tantrum and didn't want to get her dress on, but then she finally gave in and wanted to be a princess! So we took her around the neighborhood together for a while, then I snuck back home to hand out candy, because a lot of kids were showing up! She wouldn't say 'trick or treat' she just held up her bucket to get her candy!! But she had a good time. Then afterwards, she had to enjoy some of the candy of course, and then was ridiculously HYPER for the remainder of the night! But all in all, it was a success. We started to run out of candy kind of early, so we went through Cadence's candy to pick out the candy we didn't want or like, and handed that out!! and within a few days, we had all eaten all of the candy. (meaning we all gained a pound or two, and lost some self respect. LOL)

I am SO GLAD that it's almost Thanksgiving!! I have been craving thanksgiving dinner for months now!! I cant wait to cook again! I've also been in quite the Christmas mood! I already painted some acrylic Christmas decorations, and I really want to get my decorations out, but David thinks it's still too early! So i have a few fall things still out, and I think within the next 2 weeks I'll slowly put them away and start to put up winter items, and then pull out the Christmas stuff!! I don't see why it would be too early, there's nothing wrong with making Christmas last longer!!

Trick-or-Treat!!!

Hello everyone! Sorry its been a while since I posted last... I kept meaning to, and then forgot to, and then realized i might as well wait until our next ultrasound! I'm sure i could have come up with something to write about in the meantime, but every thing's been pretty hectic lately!

SO... now the big news!! We went and had our ultrasound this week, and our wishes came true!! We are having just what we were hoping for, A BOY!! David and I are both VERY excited! We cant wait to have a taste of having a girl AND a boy, and and how different they are! I am about 19 weeks now, and almost half way through this pregnancy! So far the baby is perfectly healthy, and all of the test results have been good!! So, all in all, everything is going very well, minus the almost constant nausea and migraines (which are slowly getting better!). We are just so pleased that the baby is doing well and is healthy! We still haven't decided on a name yet... We want something strong, yet something original that you don't hear too often, but we haven't had much luck finding the right one yet! So if anyone has any ideas, let us know!
Cadence is handling the pregnancy pretty well so far. She likes to kiss and rub my tummy from time to time and talk to the baby a little bit! She also likes to try and feed the baby by shoving kix and cheerios into my belly button, and saying "here baby!" But other times, I'll try to get her to say hi to the baby, and she gets mad and says "no baby!" So, shes back and forth with it sometimes! Other than that, Cadence is doing very well! She's starting to talk a lot more, and can actually put 3-4 words together to make a small sentence. We are currently trying to teach her colors and shapes, and she can usually count to five! She also loves to sing, and even tries to conduct music! She is just amazing!
On another note, David will be receiving the Melchizedek priesthood very soon! He's excited and slightly nervous about it! So, we are doing well for the most part! Money is always tight, but whats new?! That seems to be every one's life story these days! We are starting to get slightly nervous with this next presidential election coming up... we really hope the right man wins, or we're going to have to pack up and run for the hills in Canada!

David and I recently discovered that we are amazing pumpkin carvers!! We bought a few pumpkins for Halloween, and had such a fun evening carving them together! We literally spent like 2 and 1/2 hours!! My pumpkin is the one eating a smaller pumpkin, and David's is the one eyed, one eared scar faced one! This will be Cadence's first trick-or-treating experience! She is going to be Sleeping Beauty for Halloween, because that's her new favorite movie, and shes just such a princess!! I will be sure to post some pictures of her in her costume soon!

Baby #2 Ultrasound!

Hello All! So, I had an ultrasound the other day. They do a test now called an "ultra screen" to test the baby for downs syndrome. really, all it consists of is measurements of the baby's neck, and other things. kinda weird. they also took some small blood samples, which i haven't heard the results from that yet. But they said that so far, the baby looks healthy and everything seems good! So, I'm posting the pics they sent me home with! It was so cute, as soon as the ultrasound started, the baby was bouncing all over the place, jumping, waving its arms in the air, and sucking its thumb! It was too cute. I will be heading into my second trimester this next week, which means soon enough i will start to feel the baby kicking and stuff! I will also find out the sex of the baby in about 5-6 weeks! again...*cross your fingers for a boy!*

Busy Busy Busy!!!

Okay, so i am new to the whole BLOG thing, so dont laugh at me for sounding lame!!

So, our little family has been very busy in the last few years! Last year in May, David graduated from Yavapai College with an Associates degree of Business, ready to move on to something bigger! So, we then moved to Tucson in November, and have been doing pretty well down here. I mean, it could always be better, but I'm not complaining just yet! This year in April, David was also baptized!! YAY! So we plan on going to the temple next spring! We moved down here because David was accepted to the University of Arizona. Although because of money and federal aid deadlines (grumbles slightly...) he hasnt started attending there just yet! But he is taking a class at the community college, because its just a heck of a lot cheaper. He will definitely start classes at the U of A starting in the spring semester, so he can get his next degree going! He's decided he wants to get his CPA in Accounting, so its going to take a little while, but will be well worth it in the end. He also works full time so that I can be a stay at home mom!

Our daughter Cadence just turned TWO this last month, which i still can't believe! We also found out in July that I am PREGNANT AGAIN!! My due date is March 27, but I have to have a scheduled c-section this time, so we will be recieving our new bundle of joy on or around March 20. Which i think is pretty sweet... I'll be gettin that baby out a week early, compared to a lot of pregnant women that exceed their due dates.. suckers!! Just kidding!! This pregnancy has been quite a bit harder on me than the last one. I have severe nausea all the time, I've also developed bad fidgets and restlessness ALL NIGHT! It makes it near impossible to sleep! But I have actually maintained my weight for the first 12 weeks, because of all the constant vomiting! So, everything has its subtle silver lining I suppose! I will be sure to keep everyone updated on my pregnancy as it goes along!

For Cadence's second birthday, we gave her a big girl bedroom! We had a spare room, so without her knowing it, we painted that room, and put a cute toddler bed in there, along with a vanity table (which i made myself...) and then we surprised her with it on her birthday. She loved it SO much, she didnt leave the room all evening! She spends alot of her time in there now, playing dress up and of course the constant emptying of the dresser... But shes out of my hair, so I dont mind it! She's been doing pretty well in her new bed. She goes to bed better when David is home to tuck her in, such a daddy's girl.

Other than all that, she is really growing up. She says all sorts of words and small phrases. She's almost potty trained... she goes through phases of liking it and then not wanting anything to do with it, but she's almost there! She likes to break out into song alot, usually about our dog or about David. And she loves dancing! We'll be at the grocery store and some random old 90's song will come on and she just starts moving and shaking and gets into it! She's got quite the personality, and she's usually good entertainment. But, she's also realized that she's two now, so she thinks she can throw tantrums and hissy fits whenever she wants. But, hopeful she will move past that sometime within the next 16 years!! Haha

So, I guess thats it for now! I will have to put up more pictures of our family here shortly, once i can wrangle up some good ones!!
